Aber zuerst zum Ursprung.....
Der Ursprung, war die Frage von meinem Freund Gerhard, ob ich ihn einmal auf Kreta (Agios Ioannis bei Festos) besuchen würde. Das dieses "Ja", mein Leben so sehr verändern würde, konnte ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht erahnen! Ich wusste nichts über Kreta, auch nicht so genau wo es lag, eigentlich wusste ich nur, dass es eine griechische Insel sein müsste. Also buchte ich eine "Decküberfahrt" für mich und meine Aprilia. Am 28.5.1988 kam ich hier an, und so recht nie mehr los! Der Plan war ca. ein Monat zu bleiben, aber wie es mit Plänen halt so ist, blieb ich den ganzen Sommer, ca. 4 Monate. Wieder zurück in der Schweiz, lernte ich bald darauf Tanja kennen, und ein Jahr später waren wir verheiratet! 1990 waren wir das erste Mal zusammen hier und im Sommer 1992 folgte dann die 5 wöchige "Töffreise" (Töff = Motorad). Auch Tanja wurde vom "Kretavirus" angesteckt und so war es klar, dass unsere Zukunft irgend wann einmal auf dieser Insel weiter gehen würde.... Und so geschah es dann auch! But first to the origin.....
The origin was my friend Gerhard's question as to whether I would visit him on Crete (Agios Ioannis near Festos). I could not have guessed at the time that this "yes" would change my life so much! I didn't know anything about Crete, not even exactly where it was, actually I only knew that it had to be a Greek island. So I booked a "deck crossing" for me and my Aprilia. I arrived here on May 28, 1988, and really never left! The plan was to stay for about a month, but as plans go, I stayed for the whole summer, about 4 months. Back in Switzerland, I soon met Tanja and a year later we were married! In 1990 we were here together for the first time and in the summer of 1992 the 5-week "Töffreise" (Töff = motorbike) followed. Tanja was also infected by the "Crete virus" and so it was clear that our future would continue on this island at some point... And that's how it happened! Here are three photos from the beginning

Über uns.....
Ja was soll ich dazu sagen? Wir sind ein "Dreierpäckli" die Tanja, der Ruedi (Ich) & unser Hund, der Alf. Seit September 2014 leben wir auf Kreta. Der Alf ist Anfangs Juni 2015 zu uns gestossen, er wurde im Nachbardorf geboren. Eigentlich sind wir schon in der Schweiz gerne und oft gewandert, aber durch Alf hat es eine neue Dimension bekommen. Anfangs 2016 hat uns Fio4ever zum "Geocachen" mitgenommen und seitdem fröhnen wir auch diesem Hobby. Und das alles, Kreta, Tanja, Alf und Gecaching hat das Photographieren beflügelt.
Nun lieber Page-Besucher, wir hoffen, dass Du Spass bei Anschauen hast!!!
About Us.....
Yes, what should I say about that? We are a "pack of three" Tanja, Ruedi (I) & our dog, Alf. We have been living in Crete since September 2014. Alf joined us at the beginning of June 2015, he was born in the neighboring village. Actually, we used to love hiking in Switzerland and often, but Alf gave it a new dimension. At the beginning of 2016, Fio4ever took us "geocaching" with us and since then we have also indulged in this hobby. And all that, Crete, Tanja, Alf and Gecaching inspired photography.
Now, dear page visitor, we hope you enjoy looking at it!!!
…und dann, just an Tanjas 40. Geburtstag konnten wir unser Haus das erste mal mit dem Schlüssel öffnen!!!
...and then, just on Tanja's 40th birthday, we were able to open our house with the key for the first time!!!

Alf als Baby… / Alf as a baby…
Alf als Baby
Warum sollte es uns anders gehen als den "Menscheneltern“? Zwar haben wir Alf nicht selbst gezeugt, aber er ist halt doch unser "Baby"!!! Es ist eine Art "Leihmutter & Vater-Prinzip" für uns. Wenn wir die alten Photos (ca. nach den ersten 5 Wochen bei uns) anschauen, haben wir einen "Jööh"-Effekt am anderen!!! Wir haben in unserem Hausgang eine Weisheit stehen die besagt:
Wer sagt Glück kann man nicht anfassen, hat niemals einen Hund gestreichelt!
Hier nun eine Auswahl zum Geniessen.
Alf as a baby
Why should it be any different for us than the "parents of humans"? We didn't father Alf ourselves, but he is our "baby" after all! It's sort of a "surrogate mother & father principle" for us. When we look at the old photos (approx. after the first 5 weeks with us), we have a "Whoa" effect on the other!!! We have a piece of wisdom in our hallway that says:
Anyone who says happiness can't be touched has never petted a dog!

Wir ohne Alf, das ist heute unvorstellbar. Er beschert uns so viele "witzige" Momente die wir auf gar keinen Fall missen möchten!! Ja, wenn wir uns Alf so anschauen, haben wir manchmal das Gefühl, dass er von "Leckerli" träumt!!! Alf's Augen sind so ausdrucksstark, man sieht, dass er mit ihnen zu uns "spricht"!!!

We without Alf, that is unimaginable today. He gives us so many "funny" moments that we definitely don't want to miss!! Yes, when we look at Alf like this, we sometimes have the feeling that he dreams of "treats"!!! Alf's eyes are so expressive, you can see that he is "talking" to us with them!!!
